Instead of the blackpowder revolvers of the frontier, or the modulars of the present, the US military has never happened to be without the opportunity to choose its sidearm according to the situation of tactics, technological possibilities, and the facts of battle. These handguns were not just a symbol of the time it was utilized in, but was branded as a reliable, creative and culturally impactful handgun. 1. Browning -.45 ACP Masterpiece M1911 / M1911A1.

The change in Colt New Service and Smith and Wesson Second Model revolvers became an alternate to the M1911 production as the demand of this produces was not able to meet the requirement of the World War I.
